To enable accurate Conversion Rate tracking in Acanthis, you must connect your Shopify store to Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and configure GA4 to track conversions.
This guide walks you through the full setup process.
If you haven’t already created a GA4 property, follow these steps:
Go to analytics.google.com and log in with your Google account.
Click Admin (bottom-left corner).
Under Account, create a new account or select an existing one.
Under Property, click + Create Property.
Enter your store name, select your time zone and currency, and click Next.
Choose your business size and how you plan to use Google Analytics, then click Create.
Accept the terms and conditions.
Your GA4 property is now ready to connect with Shopify.
Once your GA4 account is ready, you’ll need to link it to your Shopify store:
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Customer Events.
Click Connect Google Analytics 4.
Follow the prompts to:
Sign in to your Google account.
Select the GA4 property you created in Step 1.
Grant permissions and approve the data sharing connection.
After completing this step, Shopify will start sending session and purchase data to GA4.
Note: It may take up to 24 hours for Shopify data to appear in GA4, especially if it’s a new setup.
To complete the connection between your Shopify store, Google Analytics 4, and Acanthis, you must enter your GA4 Property ID into the Acanthis app.
Go to analytics.google.com and open your GA4 property.
Click Admin (bottom-left).
Under Property, go to Property Details and you will see your Property ID (a 9–10 digit number).
Copy the Property ID.
In Acanthis, go to Settings > Connected Apps > Google Analytics > Connect to GA4
Paste your GA4 Property ID into the field labelled Tenant ID.
Click Save & Verify to complete the connection.
Note: This step is required for Acanthis to identify and pull your GA4 conversion event data.
After completing all steps:
Shopify should send visitor and transaction data to GA4.
Acanthis will then be able to calculate your Average Conversion Rate using this data.
